Matt Holcomb from The Door Fellowship in Williamsport PA, put together a cool tutorial of how to easily burn letters and images on to wood. He also demonstrates how you can easily transfer wording or images on to wood using a laser printer!

Start with the piece of wood you desire.

Printed out letters and logos on matte finish photo paper and make stencils to trace on the wood.

Once traced on to the wood, use a hand blow torch to burn the wood. Use a separate piece of wood to line up with the edge of your stencil while burning. That way you stay within the stencil.

You can also print and transfer letters and images on to wood using the following method.

Sand the area where you are going to place your image, smooth. Then print the words or image out on copier paper. For transferring letters or images to wood, use copier paper on a laser jet printer only and mirror the image in the printer settings. Then tape the paper to the wood and liberally apply acetone while going over the letters with the handle of a butter knife or piece of wood.

If the letters don’t come out dark enough…you can always fill them in using a black sharpie!
