Looking at these aerial photos, you’d think dye was poured into the lake, giving the water a pink hue. But a closer look will reveal that those are actually floating cherry blossoms.

Tokyo-based photographer Danilo Dungo goes to Inokashira Park every spring to admire the blossoming of the Sakura trees. Each visit, he takes photos from all angles, including all the way from up in the air.

His drone photos reveal how stunning the cherry blossoms are, even when viewed from afar. The stunning contrast between the trees and the water makes you feel like you’re staring at an abstract painting!

You can see more of Dungo’s pictures from the last two years over at his NatGeo Your Shot page.
