For “American Idol” contestant David Francisco, the road to stardom has been even tougher than most. Shortly after David moved to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue his lifelong dream of being a musician, he was hit by a car while riding his bicycle.

David woke up in a hospital bed, unable to move his legs. David was paralyzed from the waist down.

“I thought everything’s over. Music’s over. Relationships are over. I cried every single day for months.”

One day, the tears stopped when David noticed he could move his foot, every so slightly.

From that moment on, David worked hard to regain movement in his legs. During that time, David reconnected with an old friend ‘Christie’ who reached out him, offering encouragement.

David and Christie fell deeply in love and became engaged to marry. Christie stood by David’s side and helped motivate him during his physical therapy.

Now, David is able to walk with the help of crutches and his new fiance’.

David recently auditioned for American Idol singing the hit song ‘Isn’t She Lovely’ and boy oh boy did he nail it.

With David’s fiance watching on, David moved the judges, not only with his story, but his incredible talent.

Take a look below – there wasn’t a dry eye in the house.
