SO COOLRemixing isn’t anything new, but there are still ways to take an art form and turn it on its ear. Derek Brown is a musician who plays the tenor sax and percussion. However, he doesn’t use drums to make his beats. Derek uses his mouth, utilizing the hip hop art form of beatboxing. He calls this fusion BeatBox Sax, and the results speak for themselves.

Repurposing Bach’s “Cello Suite” for the saxophone, Brown adds a little extra groove by incorporating mouth sounds and his stomping foot to the track. It brings to mind such classic hip hop beats as 9th Wonder’s “Big Boy Music” instrumental for Sean Boog. If you’ve wondered how classical music and hip hop can come together, this sax solo is for you.
