Austrian downhill skier Marcel Hirscher was almost hit by a drone Tuesday (Dec 22, 2015) during a slalom race in Italy.
The ski federation will be banning camera drones from the World Cup races, the director Markus Waldner said Wednesday “because they are a bad thing for safety“.
Marcel’s great speed as well as luck certainly played a factor in avoiding a serious fall that could have easily resulted in injury.
