Looking for a career change? Well, if you live in the Bay area of San Francisco, you may be in luck!
Facebook Inc. is extending a massive olive branch to slightly peeved neighbors by its plans to expand its campus and bring 6,500 new employees to the area, a move some locals fear will worsen a growing housing shortage.
The media tech giant announced Friday it will spend about $20 million in Menlo Park and East Palo Alto, Calif., two cities that surround its campus, to create a fund to build new housing, support job-training programs and provide legal assistance to tenants in danger of eviction.
In a world where many companies are looking to move overseas and create jobs on foreign soil rather than U.S., this surely is not a bad gesture by Facebook.
