The tireless heroes of the Kittitas County Fire District in Washington State were out on a job when they got an unexpected visitor.
Photos that the fire department posted on its Facebook page show a young elk getting up close and personal with the crew.
The sweet elk cow has been dubbed “Buttons,” and she showed her appreciation for all the firefighters do by snuggling up to them as they stood by the side of the road.
She was astonishingly friendly and approached each member of the crew for a kiss or a nuzzle.
