It is said that 75% of women experience hot flashes at one point or another in their life. Hot flashes are typical symptoms of menopause, including weight fluctuations, headaches, poor sleep, mood swings and low libido.

Lets face it though…even men have been known to heat up from time to time too.

So the DIY cool down spray we are going to show you below, works wonders for both genders!

We stumbled upon this awesome, natural solution while browsing the web recently and thought we would share it with you all.

The blend was created by the folks at One Good Thing, and it is extremely easy to make.

What You Will Need

You’ll need three different types of essential oils, and they’re all important because each one contains ingredients that work to cool you down during an episode.

Peppermint oil will provide you with a cool, tingling sensation that will lessen the intensity of a hot flash. It will also leave you feeling energized.

Clary sage oil, known for its effectiveness in soothing menstrual cramps and PMS symptoms, will reduce the intensity as well as the frequency of hot flashes and night sweats.

Finally, Geranium oil will restore some balance to your hormones, so you can experience less anxiety and mood swings.

You’ll also need some witch hazel, which has cooling and astringent properties.

How To Use

  • Mix one part peppermint oil, two parts clary sage oil, and two parts geranium oil to create the cooling blend.
  • Pour the oils in a one-ounce spray bottle then fill the rest of it with witch haze. Shake until mixed well, then spray it on your face and body as needed.

Other recommended ways to use this cooling blend includes making a massage oil. Using the same ratio of the essential oils, add a carrier oil, like coconut, almond, or avocado, and shake well before using.

You can also add a couple of drops of the essential oils to your bath and have a soak in it for 20-30 minutes.
