Trying to live out of a storage locker most certainly goes against every single legal document you have to sign in order to rent it out, but that doesn’t mean it’s impossible, as YouTuber 007craft demonstrates.

After giving up his apartment to go hike the Pacific Crest Trail, 007craft didn’t have a place to live when he got home. Instead of finding an apartment that would have cost him more than $1,000 per month, he decided to turn his $200 per month storage locker, where all his stuff was already stashed into a highly affordable makeshift home for two whole months.

The 10-foot by 10-foot by six-foot storage locker apartment seems surprisingly comfortable, with a bed, tiny kitchen, a sofa, basic plumbing, and even electricity thanks to an extension cord covertly run to an outlet located a few doors down.

As he explained in a Reddit AMA about his setup, he had to rely on a gym and nearby community center for showering, but had he stayed in the storage locker longer than two months, he actually had plans to even build a pop-up shower.

Before you go and think you can make this happen for yourself…just know…if you get caught, getting kicked out will be the least of your worries.
