Not interested in keeping up with the Kardashians?

A new app is about to be introduced that’s specifically designed for the folks that are tired of hearing about the daily antics of Kylie and Kendall Jenner, or the latest product being hawked by the Kardashian sisters.

British viral marketer James Shamsi announced the app, called #KardBlock, this week. In an interview with The Daily Beast, 21-year-old Shamsi said that he created the app, which filters any mention of Kim, Kanye, Kris, Kendall, Khloe, Kourtney and Kylie from the user’s news feed, because he was tired of being bombarded by Kardashian/Jenner news.

“Basically, what was happening was that there were Kardashians everywhere, and I wanted to do something about that,” he said. “But for me, when I follow pages, I am not doing it to get a constant stream of updates on the Kardashians.

Shamsi said today’s news outlets are constantly reporting on the Kardashians, rather than more important news.

“I am interested in deeper issues,” he said. “But every platform seems interested in Kardashian news to the point that everything else gets crushed.”

Not only will #KardBlock cause stories about Kylie Jenner’s lips and Kim Kardashian’s relationship with Kanye West to vanish, but it will also replace any Kardashian-related links with helpful news stories.

The app is free and Shamsi has set up a donation page for folks to help support the app.
