Dave Hickman was only 14 years old when he earned the label of hero.
While out in the woods hunting with his Grandfather back in 1955, Hickman heard strange sounds coming from nearby; when he went to investigate, he discovered something that would change his life forever.
There, laying in the weeds was a baby girl. Hickman rescued the little baby and brought her to the local police station. The baby then went on to get adopted by a family and Hickman never saw her again.
Hickman thought about the little girl everyday for 58 years and often tried to find her. Finally, he reached out to a retired police officer who helped him track ‘his baby’ down. After 58 long years, the two finally were able to meet.
