When Xavier was 11, he had already been arrested on serious charges and A life of crime was all he knew thanks to his biological father.
Xavier thought he was doomed until he met Joe Toles. When Xavier was 18, Joe, an orphan himself did the unthinkable and adopted him.
“I decided that I wanted to adopt. I’m single. I don’t have any support so I don’t know how I would have been able to do it with a younger kid. I wasn’t really looking for a 17-year-old… then there was Xavier,” Joe said.
Now, Xavier is 20 and the Toles’ home is a full house. Joe adopted two other teens with difficult pasts, 17-year-old John and 14-year-old Ronnie.
