Recently Youtuber Coby Persin conducted a very real and very scary social experiment where he lured young girls with the use of a fake Facebook profile which claimed he was a young guy. With the help of the girls parents, the young ladies were in for a big life lesson. This time, the role is reversed and it is the boys turn to get a reality check.
The internet is a very, very scary place. We can tell our children all about the dangers of the web, but when they see it first hand…it becomes real. I showed both of these videos to my four children and the look on their faces was powerful. There was fright, confusion and nervousness. All the reactions I was hoping for. Our children should be scared of social media and predators out in this world, they are everywhere and we need to protect our children by giving them the proper knowledge to stay safe.
