You might remember Chris Hansen from his time on Dateline NBC’s To Catch a Predator, which ran from 2004 to 2007. The series focused on the capture and detainment of child predators by impersonating young teens on the Web. Overall, he caught more than 300 criminals! You go Chris Hansen!

If you were a voracious viewer of the show, we have big news: Hansen’s back catching creeps…in a somewhat more complex world.

“Now there’s a new breed of child predators,” the trailer reads. “And new forms of social media to help them find their victims. For years, fans have pleaded with host Chris Hansen to return . . . and now, he’s back!”

A slightly older Hansen can be seen interrogating a predator. “What was on the agenda tonight?” Hansen asks. The trailer flashes to another predator. “She’s 14,” he says. “Fourteen,” Hansen repeats in disbelief. Ugh.

“Is that against the law?” one predator asks Hansen. “To have sex with a 13-year-old girl when you’re 44? Yes, it’s against the law,” Hansen says. I have no words for this.

And then comes the best part: detainment. “Hands behind your back,” a police officer says as the force handcuffs an offender. There’s no sweeter sound than the slam of the cell door at the 1:32 mark.

“I’m Chris Hansen,” Hansen says at the end, really driving it home. “And this is an investigation called Hansen vs. Predator.” We can all thank the Kickstarter community for bringing the series back!
