To celebrate 12-year-old Sophia Petikas’ last day at Willis-Knighton Cancer Center, the Proton Radiation team and Dr. Daniel kept their promise to dance with Sophia to her favorite song, Silento’s “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)”. The staff also presented her with a certificate of completion.

After living with scoliosis for years, Sophia was diagnosed with a spinal tumor that was keeping her in a brace and in pain 23 hours a day. Sophia is the first pediatric patient at the Proton Therapy Center, which treats patients with ProteusONE, the first compact pencil-beam scanning proton therapy system. Watch the full video to witness Sophia’s happy ending to her treatment.
