Keeping insects out of your house seems almost impossible during the summer months and most insect repellents are filled with chemicals that are harmful to the skin.

Luckily, there are some DIY all-natural remedies that are really simple to make. These 8 homemade hacks will surely keep those pests and bugs away from your home and backyard.

Pour in equal parts of water and distilled vinegar in a clean spray bottle. Add a few drops of lemon essential oil to improve the scent and shake it all up. Spray this concoction in your home where ants are most likely seen. They hate the smell of vinegar and will avoid the sprayed places at all costs.

2. Borax To Get Rid Of Cockroaches

To kill these hard creatures, boil six eggs and only use the yolks. Mash six yolks and combine them with 2.5 ounces of borax. Add half a cup of sugar or more, until it reaches a dough-like consistency. Make little balls out of the dough and leave them in corners of your home for the cockroaches to eat.

Spray this mixture all over your kitchen. To protect your plants from these critters, mix 4 cups of water with 2 cups of lemon scented dish soap and spray this concoction on the infested plants.
