In the 1920s, the case of these two sisters, aged 8 years and 18 months, gathered public attention because of the bizarreness of their story. They were found in a wolf’s den in India. They were physically deformed, elongated canines, misshapen jaws, and short extremities. They walked on all fours, and their eyes shone in the dark, just like wolves. They only ate raw meat, and showed hostility towards humans. Sadly, the younger child, Amala, died a year after they were discovered. Kamala lived for another 17 years, and learned human traits like standing erect and speaking some words. Not as lucky as Oxana was adjusting to human behavior.
