Quarry’s are popular spots for people to gather. They often offer a place for people to swim, jump from cliffs, or just go parking with a partner and get your smooch on. However, many quarry’s are filled with a lot more than just water.
Take this one in Hunstville, Alabama for instance. Below the surface of this popular diving spot is Minuteman Intercontinental Missile from NASA, dating back to 1962.
While this missile was once displayed at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center’s Museum, it ended up being submerged in the quarry in 1995.
The bottom of the quarry contains sunken bridges and shining algae.
