Earning on show residuals is not for all TV actors. Definitely, all actors before the 1950’s did not make anything on reruns. It depends on the contracts, and the syndication. Even today, if the actors are not careful in studying their contracts, they may end up with nothing from reruns. Some earn small checks for reruns, like around $2,000 to $5,000 per year simply because they did not study their contracts well, or someone bought the rights of the show and they were not protected. Yet, others don’t even get to see a penny from the shows residuals.It is unfortunate, but that’s Hollywood for you. Not everybody can be like the cast of Friends. Some make it big, and some don’t make it at all.
