The 1994 – 2004 NBC sitcom Friends may have been one of the most successful comedy shows ever, probably ranking higher than Seinfeld, Fraser, and Cheers. David Schwimmer played Ross on the hit series, and is still cashing in around $20 million per year. It is reported that Friends generates $1 billion each year, and the cast which includes Matt LeBlanc, Jennifer Aniston, Mathew Perry, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, and Schwimmer, are contractually entitled to 2% – or $20 million each. The show’s reruns went into syndication in 1998, and went to Netflix in 2015 which only serves to satisfy the cravings of dedicated fans. It seems Friends is here to stay, and cast members will continue to earn generous amounts of cash each year. As for Schwimmer, he was able to focus and improve his career with roles in Madagascar, American Crime Story, and the Netflix movie Laundromat, where he stars alongside versatile and award-winning actress Meryl Streep. Not bad for the “lovesick paleontologist professor” of the show Friends.
