Today, 12/15/2017 Crime Watch Daily with Chris Hansen will be covering the missing Ayla Reynolds case. The show will be airing at 4 p.m. EST on the WPXT network.
Twenty-month-old Ayla Reynolds mysteriously disappeared from her own father’s house in Waterville, Maine just days before Christmas 2011. Police discover a disturbing amount of blood. It’s Ayla’s, but she’s nowhere to be found.
This month marks the 6-year anniversary of Ayla being missing. Earlier this year the state of Maine declared Ayla legally deceased, although no body has ever been recovered.
Ayla Reynolds was just 20-months-old when she disappeared on December 16, 2011 in Waterville, Maine. She was last seen at 9 p.m. that night, in her bed by a family member, but was not there when her father checked the next morning. The search for Ayla was the largest search for a missing person in the state’s history, and the third-largest in United States history.
Ayla Reynolds is the daughter of Trista Reynolds and Justin DiPietro. Neither have been charged in relation to the case; however, State investigators and Trista Reynolds have both expressed that they believe DiPietro has not been forthcoming about his knowledge of Ayla’s disappearance.
The evening Ayla went ‘missing’, Justin was in the home whom he shared with his mother, with two other occupants – his sister and his girlfriend. Justin’s mother Phoebe was not in the home that evening.
