Expect the unexpected when riding a roller coaster. Your heart rate will seem like it’s on turbo-mode, you may scream, cry, or even faint. But a bird colliding with your face? Really? Well you can ask Paige Ormiston, or watch the shared video on Facebook.
It seemed like a normal fun day for Paige at Warner Bros Movie World in Queensland, Australia. She was riding one of the fastest roller coasters in the Southern Hemisphere – the DC Rivals HyperCoaster which can reach a maximum speed of 71.5 mph. Suddenly a white bird slams into her face. The shock and fright immediately registered on her face.

“I didn’t know what to do because I was stuck in a chair,” she said. “I saw it was white but I didn’t know what it was at first,” she explained. In an interview with 9News, Paige expressed how scared she was. Can you blame her? Anybody for that matter would equally have been terrified as you would never expect anything to slam into your face while riding a roller coaster.
Video of the once-in-a-lifetime moment was shared on Facebook, with a post saying “She’s completely shocked, a little bruised but OK. Not sure about the bird?” Might be the bird was more shocked than Paige. Let’s hope it was okay as well. This is definitely one for the birds.
