The Valais Blacknose sheep (Or in German: Walliser Schwarznasenschaf) is a breed of domestic sheep originating in the Valais region of Switzerland.
They’re documented as far back as the fifteenth century!
However, they were officially recognized as unique starting in the 1960s.
This breed of sheep is raised for both meat and wool.
These Sheep are unmistakable with their black faces, ears and long spiral horns, black patches on their knees, hocks and feet.

They are extremely friendly and seem to love humans as much as humans love them.

Their wool is course: the average fiber diameter is approximately 38 microns, with a staple length of 100mm or more.
The annual yield is about 4 kilograms per head.
Their wool is best sutied for carpets or felting.
These black-faced sheep are known to be very friendly, tamed easily and have a naturally peaceful demeanor.
