DEVELOPING – A male professor is dead in a Monday shooting at Delta State University, Bolivar County Deputy Coroner Ted Ray told Fox News. The campus remains under lockdown, according to the university’s Twitter account.
Mississippi Department of Public Safety spokesman Warren Strain said a man who is believed to be the shooter was still at large. He said a description of the person was not immediately available
University spokeswoman Jennifer Farish declined to identify the dead person, saying it was still an “active situation.” It’s unclear whether anyone else is wounded.
Students and faculty at the Cleveland, Mississippi campus are being advised to stay away from windows.
