Bronchitis is explained as an inflammation and swelling of the bronchial tubes found in your lungs. The tubes, which are in charge of carrying air to your windpipe and lungs, end up becoming constricted, making it harder to bring the air where it’s needed. The bronchial tube lining also makes extra mucus, causing a cough to form and worsen when not treated.
In fact, statistics show that ‘more than 10 million people in the United States had CB [Chronic Bronchitis] every year, and 7 out of 10 cases involved people over the age of 45.’ There are also studies that found that women are diagnosed with bronchitis twice the amount that men are. Yet despite these facts, bronchitis can affect both women and men, regardless of their age, but it does strike quicker with those that have a lowered immune system.
Below are the two types of bronchitis, as well as 11 symptoms you need to know.

Types Of Bronchitis:

1. Acute Bronchitis

Acute Bronchitis, or AB, is when the symptoms and issues of bronchitis affects a person for around a week to 10 days at most. Although you can still cough for some time afterwards, the other symptoms of the sickness should be over and done with.

2. Chronic Bronchitis

Chronic Bronchitis, or CB, is when a person is suffering from the same symptoms of AB, but it either keeps coming back, or it just never goes away. This condition usually affects those that have asthma, emphysema, or other chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases that fall under the COPD group.
