For years we have seen hoverboards in the movies, on TV and only dreamed of how awesome it would be if they were to become a reality. There have been some decent prototypes over the years, but none like the one Canadian inventor Catalin Alexandru Duru has created.

Duru recently broke the world record for longest flight by hoverboard. Duru needed to go a distance greater than 164 feet. In the video below, Duru is seen cruising along, high above the waters of  Lake Ouareau in Quebec, Canada. During the flight, Duru shattered the world record, going a staggering 905 feet, 2 inches.

The future is here my friends! We can only hope Duru perfects his machine so it is able to be sold eager consumers around the world!

The flight was documented and recorded in the Guinness World Records.
