Chris Weaver is a worship leader in his church by day and by night he entertains crowds as a drag queen. As a recent contestant on The Voice, Weaver told a story of how he sang for Voice coach Jennifer Hudson at a party two years ago. Hudson was so impressed with his voice years ago, that she threw her shoe at him as a sign of respect.
Well, Weaver was the first contestant to audition on this year’s new season of The Voice and not only did he blow the crowd away with his incredible voice, he landed Jennifer Hudson as his coach!
Weaver performed ‘Try A Little Tenderness’ and had all four coaches turn around to witness his talent. In the end, he had to choose Hudson as his coach because as he stated ‘his life has gone full circle now’.
