Engineer King Isambard Kingdom Brunel

History Daily

This amazing photo was taken all the way back in the mid 1840s. English born Isambard Kingdome Brunel was a civil engineer that designed the Great Western Railway, which was a first of its kind network of bridges, tunnels and viaducts that connected the West Midlands and England. He also designed the ships that were used for transatlantic service, having launched the design of the first iron-hulled, steam-powered with a screw propeller passenger liner that was used to bring people back and forth too.
