Dad’s are known for being awesome and saving the day — and this dad did just that – in true patriotic fashion!

The game was getting ready to start between the Waverly High Tigers and the Portsmouth West High Senators in West Portsmouth, Ohio, with the teams lined up and “The Star Spangled Banner” about to play.

But — it didn’t.

Instead, there was awkward silence. And the silence went on, until Trenton Brown opened his mouth.

“I looked over at the announcer, and the music didn’t play and didn’t play, and I looked over and he was getting a little frustrated,” Brown told CNN. “My wife gave me a little nudge and said, ‘Sing,’ and I said, ‘All right.’ ”

Fellow basketball dad Johnny Futhey caught the entire moment on video – including the aftermath, when Brown and his family simply sat down, in unison, and started eating popcorn and sipping Mountain Dew as if he hadn’t just knocked the socks off the entire gymnasium.

Dimly audible on the video, but creating a harmonious moment, was when the rest of the crowd joined in.

Futhey couldn’t resist posting it on Facebook.

“I posted it because I was like, the world needs to see this,” Futhey told CNN.

The video has been shared over 50k times across various social media platforms. Comments give praise to Brown for stepping up and doing a wonderful rendition of the National Anthem. Many people also commented on the humbleness of Brown and how when he was done singing — he didn’t look for applause or a pat on the back, he simply sat down with his family and went back to eating his popcorn.

Lets just mention Brown’s voice for a moment…it’s not that bad! Chill worthy for sure!
