Now this is a story of horrible co-parenting and a mildly psychotic father. The images and story below have caused quite a bit of outrage among the social media community.
Recently, an Ohio teen named Kelsey turned 13. To celebrate her entry into teen-hood, she asked her mother if she could get some blonde highlights.

Kelsey’s mother, Christin Johnson, happily agreed. The mother-daughter duo headed off to the salon and after a day of pampering, Kelsey was thrilled with her long, freshly highlighted hair.

Christin posted a picture to Facebook after their trip to the salon and Kelsey can be seen smiling for the camera.
Chrisin then dropped Kelsey off with her dad and stepmother. However, Kelsey was returned to her mother looking extremely different.
The horrified mom returned to Facebook to post a set of new photos — only this time, the images sparked outrage across the country.
Christin shared the latest photos of Kelsey’s on her Facebook page, along with this caption:
“This is what my daughter looked like Sunday when I took her home and the other two pics is what happened today before she was brought to me… all over me having highlights put in her hair for her birthday!”
Her father and stepmother reportedly cut off her hair as punishment for getting the highlights. “Actions have consequences,” they told her.
The internet clearly blew up after these photos and story of what happened started to spread.
Once the salon which gave Kelsey the highlights found out what happened, they gladly offered to fit Kelsey with the wig of her choice.
Kelsey’s mom was more than thrilled with the salon’s reaction and help.
“I’d like to thank the ladies… for making my baby feel more like herself!
We truly appreciate you ladies so much!”
As for the father and Kelsey’s stepmother…well…it looks like actions do have consequences.
Wood County Job and Family Services have started an investigation. And the couple, who both work as firefighters, have apparently been suspended and put on administrative leave.
