The Citarum River is the longest and largest river in West Java, Indonesia, and 3rd longest in Java.It may be the most polluted river in Asia, with industrial and household waste. There are about 5 million people that live along the river, and they rely on the water for many reasons. But they are not educated on environmental protection and proper waste disposal. It is also filled with plastics of all sorts, and other debris. It may even be the most polluted river in the world. If nothing is done about it, it will turn into a wasteland, and the people who live in the basin will surely remain unhealthy, or even die.
