A group of 1,000 Foo Fighters came together in the Italian town of Cesena recently to film a version of “Learning To Fly” in hopes the clip would get the attention of the band and that the group would perform in their part of Italy. Apparently the video, which went viral yesterday, worked as Grohl posted a video promising the Foo Fighters would come to the region.

Grohl addressed the fans in Italian. Consequence of Sound has provided a rough translation of what Dave said:

“Hello Cesena, I’m David, hi, and I’m sorry, I can’t speak Italian, just a little, just a little bit. This video.. beautiful, really beautiful! Thank you so much. We are coming, I promise. See you soon! Thank you very much, love you, bye.”

If you haven’t seen the video, you’re in for a serious treat:

Foo Fighters are currently expected to visit a different region of Italy on November 13. Fabio Zaffagnini organized the video known as “Rockin’ 1000.” Zaffagnini said, “Italy is a country where dreams can’t easily come true but it’s a land of passion and creativity. So what we did is just a huge, huge miracle. I’ve been working on this project for one year, waking up every morning thinking about how to make it real.”
