For a toy dog class, they are not as yappy as most. They are not known to bark often. Easy to groom and don’t need a lot of activity. Great lap dogs that are affectionate and adorable. Obedient as well, they are easy to train. They are important dogs to Japanese nobility. They seem cat-like, and are intelligent, independent, loyal, alert, and loving. They are not comfortable with strangers though. Proper socializing is needed.
