Well this is certainly one destination for the bucket list! 🙂
Glass Beach is a beach in MacKerricher State Park near Fort Bragg, California and the beach has more sea glass than sand it would seem.
The abundance of sea glass is due to years of dumping garbage into an area of coastline near the northern part of the town.
Every time the tide rolls in, new treasures also roll in. Making this one of the best places in the world to find colorful, smooth, unique sea glass!
People often search for rare ruby reds (from pre-1967 auto tail lights) or sapphire gems from apothecary bottles.
However, you may look and touch, but you are not allowed to remove any sea glass from the beach says the California State Parks Association “All park cultural features are protected by law and may not be removed or disturbed, including glass found at Glass Beach.”
Sea glass for days!
If you are ever in the area, you will surely want to stop by and have a look at this place! It is said the best way to experience it is barefoot…the glass is so smooth it will not hurt your feet!
