A heroic story with a happy ending.

The snowmobile accident was reported on Feb. 4 and a 16-year-old passenger had been thrown off a snowmobile and into open water. The male driver of the snowmobile entered the water twice but was unable to reach her. The incident took place on Little Ossipee Lake in Maine.

Deputies say Taylor Dion and Bill Rogers, of Bill’s Auto in Old Orchard Beach, were ice fishing at the time and immediately ran to rescue the scared victim.

Dion had rope in his ice shack, a four-wheeler and some help from his kids and friends. Together, they were able to pull the girl safety.

Brandon Jackson, from Limington, who was riding his ATV nearby. Jackson caught the entire rescue on a video recording through his helmet camera.

The group was able to rush the girl to emergency services where she was treated with no serious injuries.

Another wonderful story of Maine people helping Maine people, bringing a happy ending to what could have been a very devastating situation.
