Is there anything Google doesn’t have their hands on or in? Now they are in the market of predicting a hospital patients death. I’m not sure I would want to know that information. Yikes!
Google is training its new artificial intelligence computer to predict whether hospital patients will die 24-hours after admission.
During initial trials, the success rate of the predictive computer is a staggering 95%.
The complex system uses simple data such as a patient’s age, ethnicity and gender. The algorithm then uses information like patient’s vitals, medical history and even PDF’s, charts, and hand-written notes from doctors to make its predictions.
The system can also predict the number of days a patient will be in the hospital or the chances of being readmitted.
