6. World’s Most Expensive Rice – $109 per kilo
Rice is one of the world’s most grown and most eaten commodity all around the world, with some of the cheapest rice coming from Sri Lanka at .60 cents for one kilo, or roughly 2.2 pounds. But on the opposite side of the spectrum, the most expensive rice, which was sold by Toyo Rice Corporation, was actually sold at $109 per kilo. Deemed the “The World’s Best Rice,” it’s actually composed of six different types of rice, and has managed to take home golden awards during international rice evaluation contests too.
