Another art piece that broke a world record was this L’homme au doight sculpture from 1947, which is translated as “Pointing Man.” It was sculpted by artist Alberto Giacometti out of bronze, standing 5-foot 10-inches and visibly shows a man with one extended hand as it points to something. It sold in an auction held back in 2015 for a staggering $141.28 million and continues to hold the record for most expensive sculpture sold at auction.
