In 2012, a fire broke out at the Sheffield Ski Village in Sheffield, England resulting in massive damage to the slopes. The fire is believed to be caused by arson, but that is yet to be fully determined.

The park has been shut down ever since, much to the dismay of the British skiing and snowboarding communities. In its heyday in the 1990s and early 2000s, Sheffield Ski Village was one of the major hubs of the British snow sports scene and many of today’s most prominent British skiers and snowboarders first cut their teeth on its slopes.

Recently, filmmaker Edward Birch, along with riders Byron Haywood-Alexander, Marcus Haywood-Alexander and Andy Dod, went back to the now-abandoned slopes to film one of the most unique ski and snowboard videos we haveĀ ever seen. They did it in an effort to raise awareness (and hopefully donations) to the “Snowsports for Sheffield” campaign to rebuild the slopes.
