“So you have an iPhone, that’s really cool. But does it have holograms?”

The first ever holographic smart phone will be released this year and it looks to be pretty freaking awesome!

The Red Hydrogen One smartphone is the first phone from video equipment company Red.

The phone will feature a “holographic display” that projects 3D images that can be viewed without special glasses. You will be able to view the images from the sides and behind and interact with them using special hand gestures. It will also include cameras for capturing the custom 3D images.

The phone is able to handle extreme gaming and takes breathtaking photos too!

If you don’t want to use the holographic 3D mode, simply turn the feature off and the phone will resort back to a stunning 2D display like most other smartphones.

The phone will be available later this year, as early as the end of the summer, according to AT&T. Their isn’t a set price that has been placed on the phone yet, but during pre-orders, the price range from $1,295 for an aluminum model to $1,595 for a titanium-based option.

Oh…and as you can tell by the titanium and aluminum options…this phone is super rugged.

iPhone and Android users continue to purchased phones with new features such as animated emoji’s and waterproofing. But there is no word yet if casting a holographic image into the air via your phone is something that user truly want or need. I guess time will tell!
