This is both heartbreaking and awesome all wrapped up together.
There is not tighter bond than that of a parent and child.
When Bailey Sellers was 16-years-old, her father passed away from cancer. She didn’t know it at first, but he had set up special birthday surprises for her before he went. For the next 5-years she received flowers and a handwritten card from him.
Then on the last delivery, her 21st birthday, she shared the sweet gift with the world.
“…this is my 21st birthday flowers and the last. Miss you so much daddy,” reads the Twitter post, which also includes 3 photos: one of a gorgeous bouquet of purple flowers, another of Bailey and her dad from when she was younger, and one showing the card included with the flowers.
And the heartbreaking card reads:
“This is my last love letter to you until we meet again. I do not want you to shed another tear for me baby girl for I am in a better place. You are and will always be the most precious jewel I was given. It is your 21st birthday and I want you to always respect your momma and stay true to yourself. Be happy and live life to the fullest. I will still be with you through every milestone, just look around and there I will be.”
There is no doubt Bailey’s father absolutely loved her dearly.
Such an amazing gesture and act of love.
