Twenty-two-year-old adrenaline junkie Thomas Paterson was traveling downstream on his board in Ottawa, Canada, when he spotted a furry animal stranded on a rock. He instantly realized the distressed critter was completely trapped on the rock. The heroic man decided to first comfort the animal and gain its trust before trying to return it safely to the shore.
