Joaquin Phoenix is one of the most complex creatures on the planet, which is probably why he’s such an incredible actor. Back in 2008, he went on the David Letterman show for an interview which left Letterman majorly confused. Aside from claiming that his new movie, Two Lovers, was going to be his last, Phoenix even said that he was going to take on a new role as a rapper… say what? Aside from refusing to answer a bunch of other questions from the talk show host, Phoenix just looked totally perplexed and checked out the entire time. Later on it was revealed that Phoenix was just sticking to his character for another film, I’m Still Here. Even though this information was revealed later on, it still made for very weird television.
