Born in Plymouth, Michigan, Jackie Johnson initially took up meteorology at the University of South Alabama before earning her degree in broadcast journalism from Middle Tennessee State University. She would go on to become the weekend weather anchor for WCTV-TV in Tallahassee, then continued in the same capacity for WSVN-TV in Miami. She would then join prime-time TV as the meteorologist for KCAL 9 News before finally joining its sister station, KCBS-TV in Los Angeles, bringing the evening forecast at CBS2 News. Jackie also appeared in some movies and television series, portraying reporter and meteorologist roles in Battleship, All About Steve, NCIS, and The Midnight Show, among others. The beautiful reporter, however, left CBS2 in 2018 to concentrate on raising her first child, with second husband Patrick McBride.
