Mekhi Alante Lucky was booked for motor vehicle larceny and evading arrest, and he also had two misdemeanors for interfering with emergency communications and resisting an officer. When the internet got a hold of his mugshot, instead of throwing the book at him, he was discovered by a modelling agency and was given a lookbook of his very own.

Due to his heterochromia, which is a pigment disorder where your eyes are two different colors, his face was so intriguing that he was contacted by Demanti O’Bryant, founder of St. Claire Modelling Agency, whose roster specializes in male models for placement in the New York fashion industry. O’Bryant reached out through Instagram, flew Lucky out for a test shoot in July of 2017, and had booked him a gig walking for New York Fashion week a month after that. As of writing, Lucky has not been convicted of any felonies, and O’Bryant has said he is easy to work with.
