Forget about that afternoon coffee break…take a nap instead!

Coffee works wonders in the early morning hours, but it doesn’t work very well in the afternoon when you are slowly losing energy and finding it tough to make it through the rest of your work day. Sometimes, all you need is a little snooze to get you through the day! In fact, work places that allow employees to take power naps during the work day are said to have more productive employees and the overall demeanor of the workplace is happier too!

A 2015 study reveals that naps strengthen your immune system by reversing the effects of sleep deprivation. They also don’t have any side-effects, are highly refreshing, and won’t even interfere with your night sleep.

Nature Neuroscience published a study in which researchers tested subjects on their perceptual performance four times daily.

In the study, researchers concluded that performance deteriorated with each test. But participants who took a 30-minute nap between tests had an improvement in their performances, while those who took a 60-minute nap even reversed it.

Sara Mednick, a co-author of the study and associate professor of psychology at the University of California, also explained that “naps offer the same benefits as full nights of sleep if they had a specific quality of nap, and different types of naps offer specific benefits.”

So with that said…lets enter Greek designer, Nancy Leivaditou. She has come up with an ingenious solution in order to combat tired eyes at work. A multi-function desk that turns into a bed!

The upper layer is made of a sturdy piece of lacquered wood, and there’s a mattress hinged up on one side.

The two sides that accommodate the head and feet are plywood boarded and can be reclined as desired.

You only need to slide the top board backward from the sitting position, and then push back the mattress, and you’re ready for a nap!
