A 3-year-old boy was abandoned by his mother just a few days before Christmas.

The boy from Ohio, known as ‘Tony’, was found by officers at Hope Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Officers witnessed the young boy chasing after a blue car as it drove it way from him.

Officers were able to track down the boy’s mother, who was undergoing treatment at a local medical facility and she may face charges upon her release. Her identity has not been released to the public.

The boy spent a few days in foster care, until he was reunited with his father and dog. During the last few days, an outpouring of love for the little boy filled the community. So much so, that the local police department has asked people to stop dropping of Christmas presents for the boy at the police station.
