It’s called the ‘Orange Solar Tent‘ and it has got to be one of the coolest inventions in a very long time.
The fresh new, super cool design features three banks of photovoltaic cells which harness solar energy to provide a stable and clean power station that is built directly into the tent itself.
The tent is also constructed with specially coated solar threads which are woven into the tent’s conventional fabric to facilitate energy collection. The panels also provide shade during the day 🙂
The Tent can comfortably sleep up to 4 adults and can power multiple devices at one time.
To top it all off, it even glows in the dark. How sweet is that?
Inside the tent is a control center right with an LCD touch-screen that displays the amount of energy generated and used. It is also here that the Wi-Fi signal is broadcasted from. A wireless charging pouch is present at the control hub, which implements solar energy to charge your phone.
Also integrated into the central control system is an internal heating system that starts heating up the tent’s groundsheet when low temperatures are detected.
If you are someone who attends large festivals, you know that you can often lose sight of your tent in the dark. Have no fear of that with this tent. If you happen to lose your tent, all you have to do is send out a text message and this super-cool tent will glow distinctively enabling you to locate it from a distance.
The tent is being produced, but not for sale as of yet. A Kickstarter campaign fell short of proper funding and the developers are slowly producing these and looking to expand production this year.
