At a recent cover shoot for Girls. Girls. Girls. Magazine, Rachel McAdams is clad in Versace and Bulgari while posing couture with her breast pumps.
Claire Rothstein, the photographer, says that McAdams gave birth to her son six months prior to the scheduled shoot and wasn’t the least bit shy posing while pumping in between photo takes.

“We had a mutual disagreement about who’s [sic] idea it was to take this picture but I’m sure it was hers which makes me love her even more.” Says Rothstein. “Breastfeeding is the most normal thing in the world and I can’t for the life of me imagine why or how it is ever frowned upon or scared of. I don’t even think it needs explaining but just wanted to put this out there, as if it even changes one person’s perception of something so natural, so normal so amazing, then thats great.”
Women and mothers became empowered after seeing this photo where McAdams has successfully normalized and celebrated this side of motherhood; that this ‘art concept’ has created a movement of inspiration for other mothers to post their own breast pumping pictures online.
