Mr. Bigglesworth is a hairless rabbit that was saved from euthanasia, given a chance at life and is becoming an internet sensation – capturing the hearts of many!

All animals are worth saving, despite their looks. Mr. Bigglesworth is no exception. He may look a little different, but he is certainly a sweetheart! Oh, and he has over 122k Instagram followers too!

This little hairless rabbit was adopted by a woman named Cassandra.

Cassandra was searching for a baby rabbit to adopt, she was left confused by an ad for a litter of rabbits for sale excluding “the hairless one.”

She contacted the breeder of the bunnies out of curiosity and the breeder told her she could just have the hairless rabbit for free.

So why is Mr. Bigglesworth hairless?

Hairless rabbits are often born due to a genetic condition that is completely out of their control – just like Mr. Bigglesworth. Sadly, hairless rabbits are more prone to health issues.

That night on the 24th of August when we picked up a hairless frail bunny, that was about to be put down, never would we have thought that he would bring so much joy to so many people around the world. These past 2 weeks have been a whirlwind. I have been constantly worried if he was going to live, if he was eating right, if he was hot or cold. But Mr Bigglesworth has shown us that he is a little fighter. He was living outside when I rescued him, in the freezing winter, and now he is growing each day and flourishing. I put Mr Bigglesworth’s story on Instagram to show people that animals are not disposable, and that they can be just as loving and full of character, even if they don’t look ‘normal’. Hardly anybody knew about Mr Bigglesworths condition and now I am getting enquiries and answers from around the world. He is starting to grow some fuzz now, but we all have to wait and see how it goes. Thank you for supporting us through Mr Bigglesworth’s journey, we have seen the most amazing love coming from people all over the world😘

This means that many breeders euthanize hairless rabbits, instead of selling them.

Cassandra offered to purchase the little guy, but the breeder told her to just take the rabbit home.

Oh Biggsy you are so funny. Look at your little mouth wide open for some kale and the next pic is when he is cleaning his jumper. Sometimes its like we have a cartoon character in our house. I’m so glad he keeps us happy. . Mr Bigglesworth has a rare hairless genetic condition, but we love him the way he is, please no negative comments. . #mrbigglesworth #houserabbit #rexrabbit #rabbit #bunny #hairlessrabbit #bunstagram #bunniesofinstagram #rabbitlove #rabbitunited #bunnyinaustralia #bunniesoftheworld #cuterabbit #bunnylove #lapin #kanin #kaninchen #hase #australia #fabbunnies #ilovemybunnies #うさぎ #ウサギ #토끼 #netherlanddwarf #cinnamonbun #instagram #weeklyfluff #mrbigglesworthrabbit

But despite already owning 2 other rabbits and a dog, Cassandra was inexperienced with caring for a hairless rabbit…

She struggled to find information online, so she decided to create Mr. Bigglesworth an Instagram account to find help… and her decision paid off!

Many of Mr. Bigglesworth’s 122k followers, gave Cassandra great advice on how to raise the cute little hairless rabbit!

For instance, having Mr. Bigglesworth wear protective layers such as knitted jumpers will prevent his skin from getting sore and blistering.

When Mr Bigglesworth was a baby, he had a favorite toy cat that he snuggled. We still have his toy cat but now he prefers to snuggle Miss Cinnamon Bun. Even when he was a baby he had a white beard and its never fallen out. He is so unique. . After a few months of TLC, the little bunny started to grow a few significant hairs – showing that he would have been a soft white rabbit without his condition.

This just goes to show that is doesn’t matter what an animal or human for that matter look like – they all need love!
